University of Montana Western administrators have announced that Curious Minds, the school’s early childhood education lab school and childcare center, will close Aug. 31, 2016.
Jen Gilliard, Montana Western’s early childhood education director, said the university will now work with area childcare and education partners to provide a wider range of field experiences for students.
“We are looking forward to building a strong relationship with childcare and education programs throughout the community,” Gilliard said. “Beginning this fall we will work with area partners to provide quality field experiences for our students and at the same time offer added resources to our community partners.
“We very much appreciate the community support Curious Minds has received over the years and regret any inconvenience the closure may cause,” Gilliard said.
She said the university wanted to give parents as much notice as possible to make alternative arrangements.
University personnel are available to answer questions and assist parents with the transition by calling 406-683-7177 or e-mailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
