On Wednesday, April 6, University of Montana Western students and faculty will present a slideshow and discussion on a recent class trip taken to Costa Rica. The presentation, "Costa Rica Live: Geology, Biology and Ecotourism/Adventure Tourism," begins at 7 p.m. in the Swysgood Technology Center (STC) Great Room on the UMW campus.
Environmental sciences professors Linda Lyon and Sheila Roberts led the trip, which explored the geology, geomorphology, biology, ethnobotany and sustainable agriculture of Costa Rica. As part of Montana Western's environmental interpretation program, the interdisciplinary class also studied the ways in which these subjects are interpreted to the public through ecotourism and adventure tourism.
The presentation is free and open to the public.
