UMW Rodeo prepares for final weekend

The University of Montana Western rodeo team will wrap up the spring 2014 regular season this weekend in Missoula at the University of Montana Rodeo. The Bulldogs come away from the University of Great Falls rodeo with many athletes placing in the Championship Go-Round and Samantha Jo Bird winning the all-around.

The University of Montana Western men’s basketball coach Steve Keller has announced the signing of another new Bulldog. Coach Keller’s UMW basketball program has signed Columbia Falls, Mont., senior Jared Trinastich.

The University of Montana Western head basketball coach, Steve Keller, has announced the signing of the newest Bulldog. The Bulldogs received a Frontier Conference/NAIA letter of intent from Manhattan, Mont., senior Zach VanDyke to play basketball while attending UMW.

University of Montana Western head women’s basketball coach Lindsay Woolley has announced the addition of three players to the Bulldog team. All three of the additions are from Helena, Mont., and include Sierra Bignell, Alexa Welch and Kaye Bignell.

The University of Montana Western volleyball team has signed another local talent. Head coach Lisa Griffiths has announced the signing of Corvallis, Mont., senior Joanna Avery to a Frontier Conference/ NAIA letter of intent.

UMW’s Labbe honored with NAIA Live 5 award

University of Montana Western senior student-athlete, Brian Labbe, was awarded on Thursday with an NAIA Live 5 High 5 award. The NAIA Champions of Character Live 5 represent five core values in individuals that possess high personal character. The core values as stated by the NAIA include responsibility, respect, integrity, sportsmanship and servant leadership.

First spring scrimmage offers halfway evaluations for Bulldog Football

The Montana Western football team has been going through spring practices for the past two weeks. This past Saturday they held their first spring scrimmage, which was also roughly the halfway point. The scrimmage gave the coaching staff an opportunity to evaluate and look at how the players would respond in “live” situations.

UMW Volleyball announces newest member of 2014 recruiting class

University of Montana Western head volleyball coach, Lisa Griffiths, has announced the signing of another future Bulldog. Griffiths has announced that Missoula, Mont., senior Krista Hunton has signed a Frontier Conference/NAIA letter of intent to attend college at Montana Western and play volleyball.
