University of Montana Western head football coach B.J. Robertson has announced the signing of Stevensville, Mont., senior Chris Bergman, Whitefish, Mont., senior Calub Thilmony, and Pocatello, Idaho senior Angel Chavez to Frontier Conference/NAIA letters of intent.
The University of Montana Western women’s basketball team will play their second straight weekend at home when they host MSU-Northern and the University of Great Falls. Both games are Frontier Conference contests and have direct implications on the Frontier Conference tournament in two weeks. The top two seeds receive byes the first round, while the third and fourth seeds host first round games.
The University of Montana Western men’s basketball team will be hosting Montana State University-Northern and Great Falls this coming weekend in Frontier Conference basketball action. MSU-Northern is currently tied for the conference lead with Rocky as they each have 9-3 conference records. The Argos from Great Falls and UMW are tied for fourth in the conference with 7-5 records.
The University of Montana Western men’s basketball team split their two home games when they hosted Rocky Mountain College on Friday night and Dickinson State on Saturday night. The UMW men could not overcome a second half 17-3 run by the Battlin’ Bears on Friday and lost by a score of 81-93. The Bulldogs were able to make a quick turnaround and beat DSU 91-68 on Saturday night.
The University of Montana Western women’s basketball team made their second consecutive weekend sweep when they beat Rocky Mountain 74-45 on Friday night, and followed that win with a victory over Dickinson State Saturday night 69-67. The women Bulldogs swept the Bears and Blue Hawks in back-to-back weekends and extend their winning streak to five.

University of Montana Western head football coach B.J. Robertson has released the names of 20 student-athletes who have signed Frontier Conference/NAIA Letters of Intent to play football for the Bulldogs and attend classes at Montana Western. The 2014 recruiting class thus far includes 18 players from Montana, one player from California, and one signee from Nevada. With the initial signings of the 2014 class Coach Robertson has added eight offensive lineman, five wide receivers, three defensive lineman, three defensive backs and a linebacker.
DILLON, Mont. – When the Bulldogs and Battlin’ Bears take to the court on Friday night they will be the NAIA game of the week. The Bulldogs are currently ranked No. 25 in NAIA division I while the visiting Bears are No. 16.
Montana Western senior Sammi Bignell was selected as the KXLF’s player of the week for her play versus Rocky Mountain College and Dickinson State.
