Bulldog volleyball signs Brittany Erickson

University of Montana Western Bulldogs head volleyball coach Lisa Griffiths announced the signing of Brittany Erickson, a 5’11 middle blocker from Missoula Big Sky, to a Frontier Conference/NAIA Letter of Intent. By Lowell Peterson University of Montana Western Bulldogs head volleyball coach Lisa Griffiths announced the signing of Brittany Erickson, a 5’11 middle blocker from Missoula, Mont., to a Frontier Conference/NAIA Letter of Intent. “Brittany is a great addition to our volleyball program,” Griffiths said. “She will help fill the void left by Susie Rehse, and I am excited about her potential to develop into a dominating middle blocker.” Erickson played four years of volleyball at Big Sky High School and was a three-year letter winner. She was named her team’s offensive MVP and earned an All-State Academic award in volleyball in 2009/10. Erickson also participated in track and field at Big Sky and was a three-year letter winner. She was named to the all-conference team and won her team’s MVP jumper award. Erickson earned an All-State Academic award in track and field in 2010. “I chose Montana Western because it is a good fit for me and I enjoyed my visit when I was there,” Erickson said. “Also, the block schedule will help me manage my time.” Erickson is the daughter of Starla and Mark Erickson and plans to major in geology at Montana Western.
