University of Montana Western (UMW) head volleyball coach Lisa Griffiths announced the signing of Manhattan, Mont., senior Tessa Miller to a Frontier Conference/NAIA Letter of Intent.
Miller has been a four year letter winner for Manhattan High School in both volleyball and basketball. She has been selected to the first team All-State Volleyball team following her junior and senior seasons. Tessa was selected as the team’s Most Valuable Player following her last two seasons. She was selected to the second team All-Conference following her junior year in basketball.
"Tessa is an athletic middle blocker and I'm excited about her potential at the college level,” head coach Lisa Griffiths said. “Charelle Minor graduating has left a big hole for us in the middle and Tessa will be competing for that spot right away."
Off the court Tessa has been selected as an Academic All-State recipient. She has been a member of the student council for four years and was voted the Vice President this year. She is planning on studying English with a secondary education minor while attending Montana Western. She is the daughter of Alan and Kelley Miller.
“I chose UMW because of the vibe of the campus. It’s very tight knit, and I grew up in a small community and school system that I loved,” said Miller of her decision. “The fact that I was offered to play volleyball was a blessing. It’s a sport that I love and I am glad I have the opportunity to play at the collegiate level.”
The University of Montana Western has launched a national search for the provost and vice chancellor for academic affairs position.
