UMW News BureauBoth Westminster and Lewis Clark State fell to the Montana Western Bulldogs on Valentine's Day weekend. By Wally Feldt Valentine's Day weekend was sweet for the Montana Western men's basketball team. Beginning on Friday, the Bulldogs outscored nationally ranked Westminster in a 90 to 76 point win. JaRon Brown led the Bulldog victory with 24 points, Layne Glaus contributed 16 points. On Saturday night, the men's team bested the Lewis Clark State Warriors 79 to 74. This game moved the Bulldogs record to 6-5 in the conference and 13-12 overall. Saturday was senior night, and Chad Myers celebrated his last home game as a Bulldog by leading the scorers with 21 points. The wins were emotional as they were dedicated to assistant coach Craig Finberg as he battles pancreatic cancer. He is currently in Illinois receiving treatment. The Bulldog women were outscored by both Westminster and Lewis Clark. They lost on Friday to the Griffins 69 to 62 and on Saturday to the Warriors 70 to 51. Next weekend, the Bulldogs will travel to Havre to meet the Northern Lights and to Great Falls to meet the Argos.
