By Wally Feldt The Bulldog men's and women's basketball teams opened Frontier Conference play with games at Rocky Mountain College and Carroll College. The men lost at Rocky Mountain College 78-84. Jaron Brown led the Bulldogs with 25 points followed by Terry Hauser with 17. The men rebounded on Saturday with a 79-65 victory over Carroll in Helena. Four Bulldogs scored in double figures led by JaRon Brown and Hauser with 17 points apiece. Rocky edged the Bulldog women 66-63. Nicole Tams led the Bulldogs with 15 points followed by Kristen Luedtke and Jamie Lake with 13 each. Tams also led the team in rebounds with 10. On Saturday, Montana Western lost to Carroll 71-57. The Bulldogs trailed 36-15 at the break and then outscored Carroll 42-35 in the second half, but not enough to overcome the Saints first-half lead. Jamie Lake was the lone Bulldog to score in double figures with 18. Lake shot 3 for 3 in 3-point field goals. Both teams host Lewis-Clark State College and Westminster College on Friday and Saturday, Jan. 15 and 16. The women tip off at 5:30 p.m. followed by the men at 7:30 p.m.
