The Frontier Conference honored Lawson for his play in the Bulldogs' victories over Lewis-Clark State College and Westminster College this past weekend. The Bulldogs beat Lewis-Clark 86-66 on Friday and beat No. 10 Westminster 82-76 on Saturday. Lawson averaged 21 points, 7.5 rebounds, two assists and 3.5 steals per game in the wins. He hit 76 percent of his field goals (16 of 21) and 90 percent of his free throws (9 of 10). The two wins also propelled the Bulldogs to move up in the NAIA Division I Top-25. Montana Western moved from No. 25 to No. 17. The Bulldogs are on the road for the upcoming weekend playing at the University of Great Falls on Friday and Montana State-Northern on Saturday.
