By Wally Feldt University of Montana Western volleyball coach Katie Howells announced the signing of two Montana high schools student-athletes to Frontier Conference/NAIA letters of intent. The newest members of Bulldog volleyball are 5-foot-8 outsider hitter Jessica Brunett of Stevensville and 5-foot-10 outside hitter Emily Gregg of Ennis. "We are looking forward to having both Emily and Jessica join our program," Howells said. " They will both have the opportunity to red-shirt as incoming freshman and learn more about the game. Both girls have done well academically and that fits in with our program goals." Brunett was selected her team’s most valuable player for the past three years. She earned first-team all-conference honors after her senior season. Brunett maintains a 3.0 GPA and was selected to her school’s honor roll. “It’s always been my dream to play volleyball at the college level,” Brunett said. “I am very excited to play for such a distinguished school.” Brunett will graduate this spring from Stevensville High School. She is the daughter of Melanie and Darcy Brunett and plans to major in elementary education. “Jessica is a natural athlete who works hard and will develop into a solid player for us,” Howells added. Gregg played on Ennis’ 2009 state championship team. She earned all-conference honors and was selected to her school’s honor roll. “I chose Montana Western because of their great teaching program," Gregg said. "The people are very friendly, and it's close to home.” Gregg is the daughter of Kevin and Corriena Gregg and will major in elementary education. She will graduate this spring from Ennis High School. “Emily is coming from a winning program and she is ready to learn,” Howells added.
