UMW Homecoming underway

The University of Montana Western Bulldog football team will kick off homecoming events with a game against Eastern Oregon University on Saturday, Sept. 25, 1 p.m. at Vigilante Field. homecomingThe University of Montana Western Bulldog football team kicked off homecoming events with a game against Eastern Oregon University on Saturday, Sept. 25, 1 p.m. at Vigilante Field. Eastern Oregon edged out the Bulldogs 29-13. Homecoming week will begin with a campus bonfire and barbecue on Wednesday evening, Sept. 29 in the field east of the UMW dorm complex. Elections for the Associated Students of the University of Montana Western (ASUMW) will also take place on Wednesday. Students can vote for ASUMW senators and the homecoming king and queen in the Student Union Building from 9 to 11:15 a.m., in the dining hall from 11:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and in the library from 12:30 p.m. until the polls close. The ASUMW candidates are as follows: Kayla Couture and Justin Cossey will represent the Humans in Performance (HIP) club. Megan Crist and Cash Yount will represent the Rodeo Club. Kristen Kindle and Jon Carrington will represent the Western Gaming Alliance. Jamie Jacobson and Dustin Marchant will represent Ambassadors. Kimmy Thomas and Erik Schwab will represent the Chi Alpha Christian Fellowship. Lydia Blackshear and Brendan MacNeil will represent the Music Club. Jenny Winfield and Jordan Fuller will represent the Equestrian Club. Desi Seal and John Hansen will represent the Catholic Campus Ministry. Sheynoa Mataafa and Junior Mataafa will represent the Polynesian Club. Kayla Schmidt and Kabab Hughart will represent the Business Club.  Beth Davis and Kelly Engen will represent the Psychology Club. Meghan Callahan and Mainerd Gilboe will represent the UMW College Republicans. Stacy Chilcott and Brett Christian will represent the Student Senate, and Renae Counter and Matt Matich will represent STAND. Student senators will be announced Wednesday evening while the homecoming king and queen will be crowned at the Bulldog volleyball match on Thursday, Sept. 30 in UMW’s Straugh Gymnasium. Montana Western will face rival Montana Tech at 7 p.m.
