The University of Montana Western rodeo team will be hosting the annual Montana Western Big Sky Region Rodeo from Friday, Oct. 1 through Sunday, Oct. 3 at the Beaverhead County Fairgrounds in Dillon, Mont. Bulldog mascotThe University of Montana Western rodeo team will be hosting the annual Montana Western Big Sky Region Rodeo from Friday, Oct. 1 through Sunday, Oct. 3 at the Beaverhead County Fairgrounds in Dillon, Mont. Events will start at 5 p.m. on Friday. Rodeo slack starts at 9 a.m. on Saturday with another performance Saturday evening at 6 p.m. During the Saturday evening performance the UMW rodeo team will be honoring seniors Chase Edward, Jessie Foote, Mykayla Tatsey, Cash Yount, Tyler "Chicky" Wines, Tanner Kelly, and Reef Mills. A calcutta and dance will follow Saturday evening’s performance at Papa T’s, 10 North Montana Street in downtown Dillon. On Sunday, Oct. 3, a top-10 short round will begin at 11 a.m. to wrap up the weekend’s events. The UMW men’s team won the Miles Community College Rodeo last week in Miles City, Mont., gaining ground on Montana State University. Montana Western’s Megan Crist won the goat tying event and Kody Lahaye and Colt Gardner won the team roping event.
