The Bulldogs won both matches in straight sets and gained confidence as they head into conference play. "I was happy to see the team come out and play well,” head coach Lisa Griffiths stated. It's great to get two wins going into the start of conference play and have everyone contribute." Wednesday evening, Montana Western kept the Wolves out of double digits with a 25-6, 25-7, 25-9 drubbing. Every Bulldog player contributed, hitting a 0.509 as a team, gathering 31 digs, 29 assists and 11 aces. Breanne Kelley and Brea Mitchell led the team in kills with seven apiece. Shelby Mack picked up 11 digs and had two service aces. Paige Latimer had a great all-around game with 20 assists, five kills (on five attempts), five aces and three blocks. On Thursday night, the Bulldogs came out strong and won 25-5, 25-13, 25-20. Many other players got to see more court time during the third and fourth sets. "I was happy to get our starters some rest and see contributions from different faces,” Griffiths stated. “Everyone stepped up and contributed and it is nice to get all players comfortable on the floor." Kelley again led the team in kills, this time with nine. Emily Erickson added six kills with a 0.714 percentage, four aces and nine digs. Mariann Fretheim also put up some nice numbers with six kills on a 0.625 percentage, three aces and a block.
