The University of Montana Western equestrian team traveled to Missoula, Mont. to compete in three Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) English horse shows on Nov. 3 and 4. The students competed against Carroll College, the University of Montana, Utah State University, Rocky Mountain College and Montana State University.
The results for the University of Montana Western are as follows:
In the walk-trot division, Meghan Ortner started UMW out by placing third. In the same division, Kathleen Anderson took fourth and Lauren Zobrist came in sixth. In beginning walk-trot-canter, Jessica Kaseberg took fifth. In advanced walk-trot-canter, Alison Pugh and Mattie Auch both came in first. In the novice flat class, George Lawson took first, Chelan Taylor and Delanie Greer placed third and Nicole Moline received fourth. In open flat, Michael Larsen took first, Briana Hatt-Liebsch was second and Linda Sieverkropp was third. In novice over fences, Lawson placed first, Taylor took second and Greer came in fifth. Intermediate over fences included Sieverkropp taking first and Laura Cleveland coming in fourth. Larsen took second in open fences, followed by Hatt-Liebsch in fourth and Caitlin Halliwell in fifth. As a team, the University of Montana Western received high point at this show, and Lawson was the high point rider.
In open fences, Larsen took first and Halliwell placed fifth. In intermediate fences, Cleveland was third and Sieverkropp took fourth. In novice fences, Greer took first and Lawson placed fourth. In open flat, Halliwell took second and Larsen came in sixth. Lawson received second in intermediate flat. In novice flat, Taylor took first and Greer placed fifth. In advanced walk-trot-canter, Auch took second, Kaseberg was third and Pugh came in fifth. In walk-trot, Ortner placed first and Zobrist and Anderson took fifth. Montana Western received reserve high point team at the conclusion of this show.

In open fences, Hatt-Liebsch took first and Larsen was sixth. The Montana Western team was third overall in this show.
