Bulldog women host Eastern Oregon

The Montana Western women's basketball team makes their 2009-2010 home debut when they host Eastern Oregon on Sunday, Nov. 1. By Wally Feldt The University of Montana Western women’s basketball team makes its 2009-2010 home debut hosting Eastern Oregon University, Sunday, Nov. 1. The contest also marks the first Bulldog home game for new head coach Cara Cocchiarella. Tipoff is 2 p.m. in Montana Western's Straugh Gymnasium. The game will be broadcast on KDBM radio in southwestern Montana. The Bulldogs are 0-2 on the season after losing two at the University of Lethbridge last weekend in Lethbridge, Alberta. Montana Western made the trip with a squad depleted by illness. Cocchiarella is building her team around returning starters Jamie Lake, a 5’7” junior guard from Ronan, Mont.; Heather Brooks, a 5’10” senior guard from Stoughton, Wis.; and Chloe Mosey, a 6’0” junior post from Bremerton, Wash. Also returning from last season, Lauryn Lynch, a 5’7” guard from Ronan, Mont.; Kristen Luedtke, a 5’8” senior guard from Butte, Mont.; Nicole Tams, a 5’9” sophomore guard from Lincoln, Mont.; Kelly Cole, a 6’0” senior post from Turlock, Calif.; and Stephanie Dana, a 6’0” senior forward from Forsyth, Mont. Cocchiarella will rely on a talented freshman class to round out the Bulldog roster. They include Rheanna Padden, a 5’8” guard from Thompson Falls, Mont.; Hattie Bowen, a 5’8” guard from Big Fork, Mont.; Alecia Wilson, a 5’10” guard from Helena, Mont.; Laura Geis, a 6’1” post from Frenchtown, Mont.; and Megan Crist, a 5’11” forward from Twin Falls, Mont. Sunday’s game with Eastern Oregon is the first of six non-conference home games for the Bulldogs.
