Montana Western equestrian team season underway

The University of Montana Western Equestrian Team competed in Twin Falls, Idaho over the Halloween weekend against teams from Montana State University, University of Montana, Carroll College, University of Utah, Rocky Mountain College, and the College of Southern Idaho. In the Saturday morning show, Kindle McCauley took second in the walk trot. Amber Johnson placed third and Brenna Dwyer fourth in the beginning walk trot canter. Shannon Dean placed third in the advanced walk trot canter A. Sarah Tiffany took sixth in the advanced walk trot canter B. Brenda Cole and Linda Sieverkropp took fourth and fifth, respectively, in the novice A while Kristin Bredl took third in the novice B. Amanda Stephenson placed sixth in intermediate. Amanda Gelderman took fourth in open. Amanda Stephenson placed second, Kristen Gfroerer third, and Erin Bender fifth in intermediate fences. Amanda Gelderman placed first in open fences. Montana Western won Reserve High Point Team in the Saturday morning show. In the Saturday afternoon show, Amanda Gelderman placed third in open fences. In the Sunday morning show, Kristin Bredl placed first in novice fences while Linda Sieverkropp placed fourth and Carissa Callison took fifth. Amanda Stephenson and Erin Bender placed second and sixth in intermediate fences, respectively. Amanda Gelderman took second in open fences while Amanda Gelderman took first and Kristen Gfroerer took fourth in open. Kristin Bredl placed fifth in intermediate. Linda Sieverkropp took second and Brenda Cole third in novice A. Sarah Tiffany placed second in advanced walk trot canter B.  Shannon Dean took fifth in advanced walk trot canter A. Brenna Dwyer took third in beginning walk trot canter, and Kindle McCauley took second in walk trot. Amanda Gelderman won Reserve High Point Rider and the UMW team won High Point Team in the Sunday morning show. The University of Montana Western equestrian team’s next show will be in Missoula, Mont. on Nov. 7 and 8 featuring three English shows.
