By Wally Feldt See how easy it is to transform an old book into a new work of art in the Altered Books and Scrapbooks class at the University of Montana Western. The class is Tuesday, Oct. 13 and Thursday, Oct. 22 from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Instructor Danni Straugh will show students how to take old books and multimedia scrapbooking materials to make unique, individualized creations. Starting with a book, students will tear away pages and add their own creative expressions with the use of scrapbooking materials. Students are asked to bring old books they would like to alter as well as any other scrapbooking materials. There is a fee of $45, which includes a variety of materials.
