The University of Montana Western School of Outreach presents Low and High Pressure Steam Boiler Operators’ Workshops from July 19 to 23, 2010. The workshops will take place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the Montana Western campus in the Swysgood Technology Center (STC) Rooms 005 and 008. Participants will gain fundamental knowledge of low and high pressure steam systems, prepare for the Montana State Boiler’s License exam, and receive a certificate of completion for the workshop. Department of State Lands Maintenance Supervisor Bill Fisher, a licensed third-class boiler engineer and certified water operator, will instruct the workshop. A textbook and workbook are required and may be purchased at the Montana Western Bookstore, which can be reached at (406) 683-7281. The Low-Pressure Boiler Operator text and workbook is $107.25, and the High-Pressure Boiler Operator text and workbook is $100.25. Both costs include shipping. Students are asked to purchase the book early and read the first two chapters before the first class meeting. Limited lodging is available in student-occupied dormitories. Linen is provided.
