UMW NEWS BUREAU [caption id="" align="alignleft" width="240" caption="Janelle Handlos, left, and Judy Siring."][/caption] Janelle Handlos and Judy Siring are the recipients of the 2011 Jane Helm Maddock Service Award. The awards honor Jane Helm Maddock, who dedicated 17 years of service to Montana Western as a professor of English. Maddock continues her involvement in the campus community by serving on the University of Montana Western Foundation Board of Directors. She has established two scholarship endowments to assist Montana Western students and supports many other campus initiatives. Janelle Handlos serves as Montana Western’s head athletic trainer and is also a health and human performance professor in the education department. Handlos was recognized for her support of Montana Western coaches and student athletes as well as her active involvement in the Montana Western campus community. She serves as the scholarship chairwoman and assists with the Health and Humans in Performance Club. Handlos is also a graduate of Montana Western. Judy Siring was recognized for her many years of avid support of Montana Western. Siring is a constant presence at Montana Western functions and fundraisers. She has served as an adviser to Catholic Campus Ministries and she and her husband Rod serve as a host family for women’s basketball. Siring has also been instrumental in the success of Montana Western’s Pink Zone fundraiser, which benefits the Southwest Montana Mammography Program. She currently works for Farmer’s Union Insurance. Handlos and Siring were honored at the annual Jane Helm Maddock Service Awards dinner on Tuesday, May 3, 2011.
