UMW NEWS BUREAU Roxanne Engellent of Dillon, Mont. has accepted the position of the Executive Director of the UMW Foundation and Director of University Development and Alumni Affairs. She began her new post on Sept. 12, 2011. Following a national search, Engellant filled the position vacated by former executive director Amberly Pahut. Engellant joined Montana Western after nearly eight years as a life and benefit producer for Western States Insurance in Dillon. “I am excited about the opportunity to work on behalf of the many donors who support this remarkable university, as well as the faculty, staff, administration and alumni who make Montana Western such a wonderful and unique institution,” Engellant said of her new venture. “I am thankful for this opportunity and look forward to working with a dedicated board of directors. My predecessors have established amazing groundwork for me to continue the efforts of the Foundation.” Engellant earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting with a minor in business administration from Carroll College in 1991. She has nearly 20 years of professional experience in insurance and accounting, including 11 years with Blue Cross Blue Shield where she served as a customer service representative, accounting analyst, data coordinator and internal auditor. The Foundation’s search committee chair Ted Ori said Engellant’s work ethic, organizational skills and sales savvy will serve the Foundation well into the future. “We really couldn’t be happier to have Roxanne at the helm of the Foundation,” Ori explained. “Private fundraising for this institution is going to be critical to Montana Western’s future as state funding continues to decline. We as a board are confident that Roxanne is up to the task.” Montana Western Chancellor Richard Storey said the university community looks forward to working with Engellant. “The great work of the Foundation is critical to our students and university," Storey said. "We are pleased Roxanne will lead this crucial component of Montana Western’s remarkable continued success,” Storey said. The Montana Western Foundation has been in existence since 1978 through the generous efforts of Montana Western alumni and friends.
