Administrative Associate II for the Registrar

Department: Registrar's OfficePosition: Full-time Wage: $10/hour Union Affiliation: Montana Public Employees Association Posting Date: September 2013 Description The Administrative Assistant for Registrar Services works in the Registrar and Institutional Research Office and reports to the registrar. This person provides support to the registrar and registrar-related services and is responsible for providing direct customer service at the registrar service window; transcript and enrollment verification processing; and general clerical duties related to the office, including but not limited to: registrar mail distribution, managing the general registrar e-mail account, phones, record keeping and filing. During key seasons such as commencement and registration, this position may be required to work outside of normal office hours (including evenings and weekends). The position is responsible for: Performing clerical support services for the UMW Registrar's Office including: answering phones, mail distribution, stocking forms, filing and assuring confidentiality of materials. Processing student record requests including but not limited to transcripts, enrollment verifications and academic file requests. Assisting with registration preparations, including but not limited to the preparation of registration materials, registering and processing change of schedules, BANNER system set up and reviewing appeal procedures with students. Assisting with graduation preparation including but not limited to preparing graduation materials and packets, data entry and support during the commencement ceremony. Providing data entry support and organization for institutional research and the MUS Data Warehouse. Maintaining student schedule conflict and appeal procedure support including overloading credits and double blocking and determining that appeal materials are gathered, received and provided to the registrar prior to appeal meetings. Cash record keeping including the weekly submission of processes to the Business Office. Assisting in maintaining and updating web pages. Processing and filing grade changes and updates. Working with the Registrar to oversee document scanning, data and record maintenance projects for the office. Other duties as assigned. Custodian I

Location: The University of Montana Western Facilities Services Salary: $10/hr., full benefits package Duration: Full-time, 12 months, normal work hours are 3 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., Monday through Friday Union Affiliation: Montana Public Employees Association (MPEA) Responsibilities & Duties Custodian scrubs, waxes, mops and polishes floors; cleans furniture; washes windows; cleans walls, woodwork and lavatories; and empties trash receptacles. In addition, changes light bulbs; shampoos and extracts carpets; cleans conference and classrooms; and supervises and schedules student worker training. May include cyclical work such as deep cleaning windows and shoveling snow. Performs all other custodial duties and responsibilities as required. Qualifications High school graduation. Considerable knowledge of cleaning environment, supplies and techniques; working knowledge of personnel supervision as demonstrated through prior experience and/or training. Ability to perform physical activities; make decisions; operate cleaning equipment; deal effectively with the public, faculty, staff and students; assign and supervise employees; and keep written records. Bulldog volleyball team earns first conference win

The University of Montana Western volleyball team returned back to the Straugh Gymnasium with renewed confidence on Thursday, Sept. 20 to take on the Montana State University-Northern Skylights. On Saturday, Sept. 22, the Bulldogs beat the University of Great Falls for their first conference win of the season.

Bulldog football drops close game to MSU-Northern

The University of Montana Western lost their Sept. 22 game to Montana State University-Northern in Havre, Mont., 39-46. The loss put Montana Western’s record at 1-3 in conference and overall, while MSU-Northern moved up to a 2-2 record overall and in conference.

Bulldog football loses heartbreaker to Orediggers

The University of Montana Western bounced back from a 17-7 deficit and scored ten points in the fourth quarter to push for overtime in their Sept. 15 game against rival Montana Tech. However, the Bulldogs could not overcome the Orediggers and lost a heartbreaker in double overtime, 30-24.

Volleyball narrowly loses in Butte, heads to Idaho

The University of Montana Western has started battle in the Frontier Conference. Their first two outings were on the road on Thursday, Sept. 6 to Montana Tech and on Saturday, Sept. 8 to Westminster College in Salt Lake City, Utah.

2012 Hall of Fame induction ceremony Sept. 15

The University of Montana Western will hold its 2012 Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on Saturday, Sept. 15. The ceremony will take place on Saturday, Sept. 15 at 9 a.m. in the Lewis and Clark Room at the University of Montana Western.
