Campus Message from Chancellor Weatherby
The following message was sent on March 15, 2020, to faculty and staff regarding novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
To the University Community,
As you may have already seen, the Montana University System’s Commissioner of Higher Education, Clayton Christian, announced yesterday evening that he has tested presumptive positive for COVID-19. The announcement included that his suspected exposure most likely took place during the Board of Regents meeting that was held on our campus March 4-6.
As you know, many of us from across the campus and community were involved with all aspects of hosting and participating in the meeting. We wanted to let you know that we are working closely with the Governor’s Office, the MUS and local and state health officials who will provide us the proper guidance in reaching out to those individuals based on their recommendations.
We will be sending out more information soon, so please check your university email frequently and visit our Health Advisories and Updates webpage for the latest updates: https://www.umwestern.edu/section/health-advisories/
Sincerely,
Chancellor Beth Weatherby
