On the Rocks is a visiting speaker and presentation series sponsored by the science department of Montana Western. Rick Douglas, professor of biology at Montana Tech, is the featured speaker. His presentation begins at 4:15 p.m. in Block Hall 311. Douglass presentation will discuss the emerging and infectious disease ecology and why field studies should never be conducted longer than one season using hanta/deer mouse studies as an example.
Douglas earned his doctorate in zoology from Montana State University. Much of his work on the hantavirus in the northwest has been supported by a major grant from Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. He has authored and co-authored numerous articles on his research.
