Each will visit the Dillon, Mont. campus and meet with students, faculty and staff in the next two weeks.

We have selected three eminently qualified candidates for the next phase of the provost search and look forward to meeting with them in person and discussing their ideas and goals for Montana Western,” interim provost Sylvia Moore said.
Community members are invited to attend open forum meetings with the candidates on the following dates:
Steve Gammon: March 15, 2016 from 10 to 11 a.m. in the STC Great Room.
James DuMond: March 17, 2016 from 10 to 11 a.m. in the STC Great Room.
Deborah Hedeen: March 22, 2016 from 10 to 11 a.m. in the STC Great Room.
Gammon most recently served as academic vice-president of Rocky Mountain College in Billings, Mont. He received his doctorate of philosophy from Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and has served as dean of college of arts and sciences at Eastern Oregon University.
DuMond comes from Marist College where he serves as dean of the school of sciences. He received his doctorate of philosophy from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a major in environmental health sciences. DuMond has also served as associate dean of academic affairs for the college of science and technology at Texas Southern University.
Hedeen is currently the dean of the college of education at Idaho State University (ISU) in Pocatello, Idaho. She earned her doctorate of philosophy in special education from Syracuse University. Prior to her current role Hedeen has also served as associate dean of the college of education and assistant dean of teacher education at ISU.
The provost position directs the university’s academic programs and serves as a member of the chancellor’s cabinet.
Moore who has been interim provost since July 2015 is chairing the search committee.
