Montana Western’s Biology Club and the Associated Students of the University of Montana Western have scheduled the 12th Annual Student Research Symposium for April 13 and 14, 2018 in the Swysgood Technology Center Great Room on the UMW campus.
“We received abstracts for 23 posters and 30 talks from six different departments. It will be a large and diverse symposium this year,” said Biology Professor Mike Morrow.
The symposium also features a guest keynote speaker each spring. This year’s speaker is Professor Ragan Callaway from the University of Montana’s Department of Biological Sciences. A community ecologist, Callaway researches how organisms interact with each other to shed light on fundamental aspects of the natural world.
Accepting submissions from Montana Western students of all majors, the symposium is an opportunity for the campus and community to explore and celebrate the wide range of research and academic achievements of its students. The event is free and open to the public.
