Dr. Dev Seacrest earned his B.S. in Mathematics from Harvey Mudd College and his M.S. in Mathematics and Ph.D. in Mathematics Education from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He is interested in using projects to connect mathematics to other disciplines and using games to teach mathematical concepts. His research background includes using games as a teaching tool to let students discover mathematical ideas organically, and he strives to use these ideas in his own classroom. He is also interested in graph theory and its relationships with other areas of mathematics, and he enjoys directing the Cantabileers choir.
Dev advocates for a number of disadvantaged groups, and he tries to promote not just understanding differences, but embracing them. You can see his TEDx talk, Letting Everyone Play: Supporting All Learners in Math and in Life”, at https://youtu.be/3mludWCxz_M.
