Mikel is a Southern Idaho native and a 2008 graduate of Idaho State University. He spent time teaching at Idaho State University as well as Michigan State University before joining the University of Montana Western staff in 2012. He graduated with an associate’s degree in welding in 2003 that allowed him to travel the country for work before ultimately deciding to go back to school where he finished his undergraduate degree in physical education and his graduate degree in athletic administration. In his free time, Mikel enjoys hunting, fishing, camping, and golfing. Courses Taught Foundations & Scientific Fundamentals in Health and Human Performance, Methods of Teaching Health Education, Methods of Teaching Team Sports, Methods of Teaching Lifetime Fitness Activities, Health Anatomy and Physiology, Motor Development and Sport Psychology.
