Experience the rare and ancient art of glass beadmaking, also known as lamp work. This is a 2-day, hands-on workshop taught by Heather Reedy, artist and degree student, who is well known for her beautiful glass creations. Come join Heather to learn how to use a torch, a few hand tools, and soft Italian Moretti glass. There will be time for experimenting and creating several finished glass beads that can be used however you choose. Sunday’s class will include completing your beads that have been annealed in a kiln overnight. We will clean and remove traces of the clay release agent and see the final reveal; the results of your hard work! Class supplies included. Please bring a sack lunch and a water bottle.
