The University of Montana Western will follow all applicable Institutional, State and Federal policies with regard to determining eligibility for financial aid.
The purpose of this policy to establish eligibility for student financial aid.
Eligibility for financial aid is based upon completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and a subsequent needs analysis process that assesses student and parent contributions and the cost of education at UMW. The cost of education is determined by the Financial Aid Office and includes the costs of tuition, fees, books, living expenses, and personal expenses.
Eligibility may vary from year to year or within an academic year. Students receiving financial aid must notify the UMW Financial Aid Office of any change in their personal financial situation and any educational resources to maintain eligibility.
