MONTANA WESTERN HOSTS ANNUAL SPRING CAREER FAIR
The University of Montana Western Career Services Office is excited to invite all interested and returning employers, as well as UMW students, to the 2025 Career Fair. The event will take place on April 16 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the UMW Keltz Arena.

MONTANA WESTERN AND BANK OF COMMERCE PERFORMING ARTS SERIES PRESENT “JASPER IN DEADLAND”
The University of Montana Western’s Theatre Program and the Bank of Commerce Performing Arts Series are excited to present “Jasper in Deadland” from April 16 to May 2.

MONTANA WESTERN ANNOUNCES DR. JANE HELM MADDOCK SERVICE AWARD WINNERS
The University of Montana Western is proud to announce that John and Phyllis Erb, Barb Malesich, and Shane Puyear have been selected as recipients of the 2025 Dr. Jane Helm Maddock Service Award for their remarkable contributions to UMW and the Dillon community. They will be honored during an awards dinner and ceremony on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, in the Lewis and Clark Room of Mathews Hall at the University of Montana Western.

SPRING SUSTAINABILITY RANCHING WORKSHOP AND FIELD TRIP TO BE HELD MARCH 25 AND 26
Ranchers, land managers, and community members are invited to attend “Increasing Ranch Profitability”, a two-day workshop and field trip focused on sustainable ranching in Southwest Montana. The event will take place March 25 and 26 at the Beaverhead County 4-H Building in Dillon, Montana.

O. ALAN WELTZIEN RETURNS FOR UMW WRITERS SERIES
The University of Montana Western English Department invites the community to the next event in the O. Alan Weltzien Writers Series on Thursday, March 27, at 7:00 p.m. in the Bulldog Lounge of the Student Union Building. UMW Professor Emeritus O. Alan Weltzien will share readings and discussions from his latest works, “The Taylor Triptych” and “Into the Khumbu".

The University of Montana Western invites all prospective and incoming students, along with their families, to attend Experience Montana Western, a free spring preview day on Friday, March 21, 2025.

UMW MATHEMATICS DEPARTMENT’S BRAINFEST IS A SUCCESS
The University of Montana Western Mathematics Department held the third annual BrainFest Mathematical Modeling Competition on Friday, February 21, where high school students from around the region competed for $500 and $250 scholarships.

UMW’S “ON THE ROCKS” SERIES TO HOST SPEAKER MATTHEW SWARR
The University of Montana Western Environmental Science Department is proud to host Matthew Swarr as part of the “On the Rocks” lecture series. Swarr will present “Exploring the Evolution of Water Resources in the Western U.S. Using Space Geodesy” on Wednesday, March 26, from 4:00-5:00 p.m. in UMW’s Lucy Carson Library.

ANDERSON FENCING HONORED AS “FRIENDS OF UMW RODEO” AT 2025 RODEO BANQUET
The Montana Western Rodeo Team, along with Head Coach JT Robbins, is proud to announce that Anderson Fencing LLC will be recognized as this year’s “Friends of UMW Rodeo” honoree. The award will be presented on Friday, March 28, during the annual UMW Rodeo Banquet, the program’s largest fundraising event of the year.

The University of Montana Western’s 128th Annual Commencement Ceremony will feature speaker Nathan J. Boll, a NASA Space Policy Analyst and 2013 Montana Western graduate.
