Confidential Resources are those campus and community professionals who can maintain legally-protected confidentiality within the University for the individual who shared the information. Confidentiality means that information shared by an individual with a Confidential Resource cannot be revealed to any other person without the express permission of the individual, or as otherwise permitted or required by law. Confidential Resources are prohibited from disclosing confidential information unless (1) given permission by the person who disclosed the information; (2) there is an imminent threat of harm to self or others; (3) the conduct involves suspected abuse of a minor under the age of 18; or (4) as otherwise required or permitted by law or court order.
Counseling assists students by addressing their counseling and psychotherapy needs helping them gain the most from their time on campus. When a student’s mental health care needs are beyond the scope of our services, we will assist with referrals to community-based providers for specialized or longer-term care. Counseling Services is located at the Dean of Students Center and is open Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

We encourage faculty and staff to document incidents using the BIT Student of Concern Form and submit the form online using the BIT reporting form located here. A student will have a right to see the Student of Concern Form. BIT will determine potential interventions on a case-by-case basis.

Since 1977, the Women’s Resource Center serves both Beaverhead and Madison Counties in South West Montana. These counties are designated as “Frontier Counties” as identified by the US Department of Interior (i.e. less than or equal to 6 persons per square mile). We are the sole provider of emergency shelter and services for victims of domestic and sexual violence.
